At 38mm x 58.5mm x 90.6mm, the Geekvape Aegis 200W certainly isn’t small; but because the original was compatible with 26650 batteries, it was already significantly larger than the majority of single-cell devices. By eliminating the 26650 compatibility and allowing for only dual 18650’s, the Geekvape Aegis Legend 200W Box Mod has seen just a modest width increase of 11.5mm.

It’s slightly larger and heavier, but the Geekvape 200W Box Mod is still scratch proof, water proof, shock proof and dust proof. The company says that the Aegis Legend Mod will be even more durable than its predecessor, with the use of six different materials and a stronger, vertically orientated color OLED screen. It has all of the same advanced features as original AS Chipset, including full temperature control (Ni/Ti/SS), TCR, VPC and a rapid fire speed of 0.015 seconds.

Overall, though, the most notable improvements are the increased 200W output and extended life provided by the dual 18650 cells. And you can finally charge (or upgrade) via the hidden micro-USB port mounted on top.

Available towards the beginning of May, vendors are already accepting pre-orders on both the mod and the full Geekvape Aegis Legend Kit. As a kit, the Geekvape Aegis 200W will come with the 25mm Aero Mesh Tank, which is a brand new sub-ohm tank system that offers 4ml of capacity and two new coil heads. It will include a standard 0.15 ohm IM4 coil (60-80W) and a mesh 0.2 ohm X1 coil (30-90W).

There’s no doubt that if you were a fan of the original Aegis Mod, you’re going to love the Geekvape Aegis Legend 200W Box Mod Kit. It’s aesthetics are similar, and the advanced LSR injection molding makes it exceptionally rugged and tough. The company claims that its even more durable than the 100W version, but until its released and we’ve done some real-world testing, I can’t say that for sure.

What I can say is that the Geekvape Aegis 200W Box Mod is likely to appeal to a much wider audience than the original with it’s increased power output and dual battery configuration. Even though 200W is unnecessary for most users, having twice the battery life means a lot less recharging when you’re on the go. And since the Aegis Legend was specially developed for active users who need a reliable and sturdy device, the extended life will certainly be a welcome improvement.
